yesterday it was Jenson who stopped on track as Mclaren did a fuel pick up test - to check whether the fuel system can pick up the last drops of fuel or not...today it is Gutierrez and sauber..question - do such tests damage the engine? i doubt it, but then these engines are very purpose built!

and is there a limitation on the number of testing engines?

I thought De La Rosa would just drive within the simulator.

Changing from driving a HRT to the new Ferrari will likely feel incredible...

Looks like a KERS problem.

They copied Minardi. It was Minardi that came up with the idea.

Podľa Ferrari môže za dnešné problémy únik oleja. Nie je isté, či bude Ferrari v dnešných jazdách ešte pokračovať. Nie všetky tímy majú v Jereze dostatočný počet náhradných dielov.
Ferrari says it has been an oil leakage. It isn't clear if they will be run again today.

De la Rosa is a very consistent driver, and very sensitive to changes. Otherwise he wouldn't be one of the highest rated in the business. IMO De la Rosa will drive to ensure that the simulator correlates correctly with car behavior, and as such is part of Ferrari's CFD/WT recalibration program.

IMO he's also one of, if not the best, on setting up a car based on "initial feel" - as you would expect of someone so experienced. It could be that he's driving here (more specifically, on the last day) to help start with a positive setup for Barcelona.

From that picture, it sure doesn't look like he has a good feel for the car rofl
"There is a credit card with the Ferrari logo, issued by Santander, which gives the scuderia a % of purchases made with the card...

I would guess that such a serious amount of money would allow them to ignore the constant complains of a car that was nowhere near as bad as their #1 driver tried to sell throughout the season.

Heck, a car on which Massa finishes in the podium or has to lift so that his teammate finishes ahead (As we saw often in the final races of the year) is, by no means, a "bad" car."

I wouldn't be surprised if De La Rosa will drive in Barcelona.

It´s quite literally, fire =P~ Looks like unburned fuel coming out the exhaust, like mercedes had on the first day.

What has feel got to do with a car failure?

yes, sure looks like it! but very strange considering you hardly see flames being spat out these days...even more surprising since he seems to be pulling into his pit box, so he most likely won't be downshifting and won't be aggressive on the throttle either! and, i doubt a misfire would spit out a big fireball like that!!!

I'm not talking about winning races, or tyre conservation or drivability. But it will be fast.
Not bad, but last years car was also fast....only for one lap and the disaster used to come.

I want to see the pace of this car in Barcelona in long stints. This is the key factor, it would be essential to have some "hot" days in Catalonia that week in order to check properly the use of the tyres.
