I think that places back would be good news for Romain as a non complying car could also mean exclusion from the race. I hope they have a good explanation for failing the test.

@ianparkesf1
Argument from Lotus re Grosjean floor is he hit a kerb so resulting in greater degree of reflection. Over to the stewards.

Strange that given Grosjean's car failed the test, Raikonnens wasn't immediately tested.

Exactly the same argument was used by McLaren years ago when Coulthard's car failed front wing test but it resulted in a disqualification anyway.

If my memory serves me right...

Panic over, Roman has no penalty according to the bbc, it was accident damage.

If I am correct, it means they have to replace the floor, which means start from the back of the grid.

Though if Lotus can prove it is a broken piece, I think they are just allowed to replace the part with a similar one, without dropping back on the grid, provided the replaced part does get through the tests. Sounds like force majeur to me.

Pole lap:

He clearly missed apexes on numerous corners and that is not the fastest way around the track no matter how you spin it. He is fast, no doubt about it, but why do people praise this lap as some kind of miracle is beyond me. If you want to see real fast lap around hungaroring you should check 2010 pole, much more impressive than this.

One other thing I'm puzzled about. It says on the pole lap video he's doing 308 kph at the end of start/finish straight, yet on official f1 stats it states only 299 kph

The speed trap figure is a fixed point on the track - not necessarily the fastest point of the straight

Which corners are you referring to other than the ones I mentioned?

We are obviously watching different laps.

3 is not enough for you? He also slightly missed entry to the chickane. And going wide troughout those corners does not get you better traction or lap time. If it did, everyone would be taking that line but they don't. Nor does Vettel on his lap record from 2010.
What I'd like to see is Vettel's 2nd sector from his first fyling lap which was something like 5thns faster than hamilton's.

Would you be nitpicking this if Vettel would have posted that lap? I think not. It was a fantastic lap, and one he did in car in my opinion that was slightly inferior to Vettel's. The fact you needlessly bring up Vettel's lap in 2010 when his car was by far fastest proves you have some agenda to your posts.

If Lewis's lap was as flawed as you say, why did Seb not beat or Lewis's teammate the very quick Rosberg not come close to it? Have a word with yourself.

He didn't miss them, just took a wider line.
When u miss corners, it's obvious the driver has to turn in a bit more with the wheel.
In this lap, he just opened the wheel a bit more to have a smoother exit.

I wouldn't even compare sebs pole laps, their mostly usually full of errors. This one was clean with no drama, and is quite error free, Lewis was putting the car where he wanted to. No mistakes in the lap, he chose not to hit the apex of those 3 turns.
For Sure!!
