Ferrari 2014 Car Pre-launch Speculation

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It could be attached in the same way as can be seen in the Caterham crash test video.

In this picture posted by Owen.C93 you can see the nose, the camera and below the finger the mandatory Y250 part of the front wing.

Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

Maybe he'll claim next time that Ferrari puts the rod right in a different time-spacial dimension.

Nah, they're going with a tilted rod that's also assymetrical.

As of now it seems Ferrari will be the only power unit to use Magneti Marelli fuel injectors. It seems other teams have chosen to go with Bosch. Teams have a choice between one or the other. Rumors in the paddock are that Magneti Marelli are already injecting fuel at 500 bar while Bosch is working to get to this limit. Teams must decide on the injectors by Feb 28th.

May I assume that the pump is a 'single piston mechanically operated by a multi-lobe (2, 3 and 4 lobes) cam' discussed on Magneti Marelli web site? Where would this be commonly mounted the engine?

The GDI pumps are mounted on the cylinder heads and cam operated as you say. You can see the pumps on the inlet cam of the Renault 2014 engine.
I'm surprised the Bosch pump isnt up to 500 as their wbsite list a stock part with the throughput

Be very surprised, since they've had motorsports systems offering that and higher for years!

Aren't all these chinese whispers fun?
It's amazing what crap people sprout to try and get themselves a little attention

Call me coo coo, but from the images / renders of Ferrari's 2014 power unit, it "may" suggest that Ferrari may not feed air from the roll hoop to the turbo unit it wouldn't be far fetched to feed it from the much more larger side pods? The regulations don't specify where cooling air must feed into?

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

What would be the point? Also, LaFerrari test-mule has airbox, not a direct evidence, but still.
