Ferrari 2014 Car Pre-launch Speculation

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

What would be the point? Also, LaFerrari test-mule has airbox, not a direct evidence, but still.
Honestly, I have no clue I was just merely floating by the idea after looking at the various rendered images of the "power unit".

Like I said, I may be coo coo and suffering from tropical fever here
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Well, one thing is having a pump going to 500bar, the other is having an injector able to handle 500 bar rails...

There may actually be use for this. Currently there are two main rules pertaining to the area directly above and behind the drivers head.
1. The rule pertaining to rollover protection so obviously there has to be a roll hoop of some sort. Currently this roll hoop is extended backward and turned into an engine intake.
2. The minimum area rule for advertising space. Without this i can imagine teams would go to a solution of having the intake located somewhere else but seeing as bodywork HAS to be there in the first place for advertising then again, why not make it into an air intake.

Now what if Ferrari were to take intake air from the sidepods. Then use the roll-hoop intake for maybe intercooler cooling or whatever else. This can be useful if they can make the roll hoop inlet smaller/thinner. The smaller and thinner the roll-hoop inlet the less drag that it produces. More importantly, the smaller and thinner it is the less air it takes out of the airflow acting on the rear wing and the less it disturbance and turbulence it creates for the rear wing. With the new rear wings being shallower, this might actually be worth it.

I think everyone should enjoy the swoopy nosed, nice-looking 2014 concepts now before the anteaters and the ALFs come out ;)

I found this on the Ferrari website, by the looks of the front wing, it looks like the 2014 car under wraps, with no drooping nose!!

I voted for "F166 Turbo".

Maybe we should do a poll here on the page too, with the same options.

Where exactly?

Isnt the front wing too narrow and too high?

The nose looks considerably lower than previous years to me. Wider than some have speculated, but low as per the regulations.

well, the proportions don't look very wrong. conventional hook nose, no penis . front wing a bit too narrow..

But I don't think it is real.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I voted the same. Though F14 T is leading the poll.

And yes a front page poll would be nice.

looks like a fake front wing is too tight, although in 2014 the wing will be 'less wide but not so' small short
