A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Confidence in the amount they are going to produce at the rear?
Or the ability to use more of the front wing to divert air around the tyre and deliver cleaner airflow to the rear without worrying about loosing too much front downforce.

Well said, I think you'll have to be 18 or older to attend races now bc clearly the new STR9 nose and others like it look like a gentleman sausage. Bernie needs to step in there and say enough is enough.
"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe."Murray Walker, San Marino 1985
We've heard from several teams now that their main focus with this years car is flexibility. Particular STR was very explicit about that, that they expect to see many changes regarding the nose designs around the grid throughout the year. They themselves apparently have designed the car in general with room for changes everywhere, so that the entire bodywork can easily be changed in order to fit with a different nose design, should the necessity arise.
With that in mind, it could very well be the case that some of the noses unveiled so far will change completely come the first race.
Also, since Mercedes seems to be heading into Ferrari's direction for now, I have been wondering about Bob Bell's warning about the anteater noses. Was that a brilliant scheme to lead the other teams on the wrong track while he knew all the while that Mercedes were developing something completely different?
Really looking forward to seeing this car as well as its suspension configuration in order to aid flow through the rear similar to a beam wing.
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.
