Red Bull RB10 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Great looking car; seems smoother and more fully integrated than anything seen yet. I fear the opening in the nose will help create down force. Newey is again a man among boys.

Bit of a guess, but if I'm right it will be a great view this year on TV.
Isn't there this year a rule for the camera pods placement?

Okay but this is certainly a individual part. Its not closing the hole entirely it may reduce pressure in this area to harmonize the airflow around ? anyway i guess there is something tricky about it.
I'm more leaning towards being that size purely as crash structure.

yes, and I don't think they're required to have cameras for testing.

"...front cameras to be between 325-525mm above the floor.". there are also designated areas for the pods in pictures farther down the page.

Additionally, the keel is all carbon fiber, there's no aperture for any camera.

Is this the first coated (painted?) exhaust pipe that we have seen? (Image above). Could this be purely aesthetical?

Heat exhaust from internals like Ferrari and Mercs. Near rear wishbones.
