Mercedes AMG F1 W05

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Are the "ear" inlets behind the main roll hoop inlet new?
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Not new but they seem bigger than the ones used in Bahrain.

It's a new take on under chassis flow conditioner. As it's near the Tea Tray and F1Technical has a history of naming new features which wind up becoming de rigeur I propose we name this the Cup Holder.

According to AMuS, the new Mercedes nose still hasn't passed the crash test and will be delayed. Supposedly, it is a very difficult engineering task, because the nose is so short (75 cm for the entire crash structure) and there are doubts whether it will be possible at all.

But they are bringing a new front wing to Australia.

Could someone post the new fw that scarbs retweeted? New more aggressive endplates, the cascade has been split and the entire thing is at a greater angle facing outwards than predecessor.

Interesting to see they changed both the endplates and cascades; that's overall quite a big overhaul. I didn't expect that one.
