Does anyone have a picture of the new BTCC MG with the newly developed K-2000 engine?
Í would really love to see the Inlet and Exhaust arrangement as well as the engine installation.
If anyone has relevant Enginebay pictures please ,please post ,as I am working on a project with that base engine and I would love to compare their solution with my findings before going in production....
thankx!
hi marcush. I'm disappointed you haven't had much help here lol!! So i decided to do some hunting for you in case you weren't having any luck.
I haven't found any photos at present but i'm sure there are some out there. In the meantime try these URL's for information and specs if you haven't tried already;
thanks,
but obviously I found these links also,but I appreciate your trying to help..
Funny enough I mailed to WSR and Engine Developments but they seem too busy to even say no thank you we won´t share that sort of information...
Was at work in Hockenheim this weekend in the pit next to the schnitzer ETCC boys and had a chance to take a look at their (Carly?) Inlet manifold....
Quite interesting to see them having long d-shaped tracts about 250mm long leading into a quite big plenum.The whole assembly is bonded together out of several mouldings with the injectors apointing downwards
at right angle to the inlet tract at the beginning of the runner !
Seems they have some sort of device to spray at 90° from the injector axis...very interesting..they also seem to have airhorns in the plenum,judjing from the outward appearance of the plenum...Unfortunatelly I had my digicam not at hand so no pics,sorry ,but SPA is not so far away ..maybe then...
ah yes ,material,very good looks white and grey thin stripes of filament(unidirectional) visible maybe carbon/Dyneema?
marcush.
Yes i thought you might have tracked those sites down lol. And i think that there's quite a lot of innovation with the manifold layouts. I remember one time at the Performance Engine specialists i work for, a polishing company brought 20 different manifold and exhaust systems from F1 engines and i could have looked at them all day!!! I'll do some more looking, and hope you have luck too!!
the engine is featured in the latest issue of Racecarengineering mag...but what can I say no pic of the inlet arrangement.
The article is very hypothetic and ignores the physical constraints of the base engine..sorry to see that happening in a racers publication...
But nevertheless I got some out of it ....but those who don´t know of that baseengine get a simplyfied impression.Makes me wonder about the rest of the fearture were I wouldn´t consider myself as a specialist...
