It's free practice, who knows what they are doing? I still expect MercGP to kick major b--t in qualifying tomorrow.

What had happened that Ferrari was so close to Mercedes?
I can't believe that they recovered so much, because there aren't big updates on the car. And I'm not sure about the fuel load, because Hamilton and Rosberg stayed on track almost the same as Alonso. Can Ferrari recover so much by software updates?

Ted is making big things out of nothing, Hamilton had balance issues, how many Fridays last year did he complain and bounce back and Ferrari wont be that close as much as I wish they were. Rosberg backed out and Hamilton was having his own problems So they both could have found more time and it is only Friday.

Thank god someone else realised. It's like these long runs are the race pace of each car and everything that can be deduced from them, namely everyone and their grandma are catching Mercedes, can't possibly be called into question. At least it appears so on Sky.

Ted wont ever hesitate to dramatize when it comes to Hamilton. Doesn't seem to like him at all.

The pack will close a little on Mercedes. One of their advantages is a forward weight distribution which has contributed to them being able to protect their rear tyres in the races. At this circuit it is likely to be a bit of a disadvantage being front limited. They're also having to adapt their setup to the new nose which could take a bit of fiddling before they get the most from it.

That said I still expect Merc to sort out their balance issues overnight, get the suspension settings right, and turn up the power pulling away a little bit. If it rains in qualifying but we have a dry race then it could get very interesting if they qualify out of place (more likely here than at the other circuits so far). Would be good to see them having to race through the field.

Those of you that are surprised at how far ahead (or not) Merc are, remember, at Bahrain people were screaming "oh my god, everyone's caught Merc". They have been only there or there abouts in free practice at every race so far, they absolutely will have a much bigger advantage come qually/the race.
