Lewis in total control. When I saw Nico trying a move so late in the braking zone, I knew he wouldn't make the corner.

zero degredation im SHOCKED didn't think pirelli could do such tyres after last year. Rosberg doing 2nd fastest lap 50laps later after pitting not even the bridegestones where like this.

Looks like Hamilton took it a bit easy with the engine, getting the difference in engine useage back down.

Also, pole position is a disadvantage here. Lewis had a slightly better start, but Nico just could tuck behind Lewis and get into a potentional first place that way.

And yeah, very low degredation. Next year will be super softs and softs for sure.

Pirelli does only whatever FIA asks them to do... ;)

Can you even call that degradation?

I don't think I saw a single marble on track.

And totally unnecessary. He had the inside line and was alongside. If he had his nerves under control Rosberg could have been P1 after the first Corner.
Rosberg's race after that big mistake was very good. Not a single sign of locked wheels even when he was doing his sprint to get to P2. Seems he can only drive error free if Hamilton is not directly behind or in front of him.

They were mourning the Russian democracy.

PS: FOM pandering to dictators and oligarch and showing their faces to the world, who would have thought.
I think that was nice touch. A really powerful statement.

Anyhow this race wasn't that bad. Turn 3 is very good for racing, and so are some other sections. I think next years race here will be exciting, it just needs the right tyre selection and more competition up front. That's all.
And i don't think this was the most boring this year.
For Sure!!

pretty easy to make tyres that will run the whole race
unfortunately the surface was laid too late for pirelli to do their usual tests before deciding on the compound so they had to take a punt ..not surprisingly after previous criticisms they erred on the hard side

and there are people who want to go back to the old days ...amazing

- Great comeback race against the odds by Rosberg, as good as Hamilton's Austria or Great Britain, if LH had some Lowe's "next level" servicing substance contamination or gearbox failure he could have won this
- Ferrari equalised Alonso backwards through pitstop and he still finished 15+ s in front of Raikkonen
- Kvyat is really a supertalent deserving best cars, this race proves it. Same for Magnussen slower than Button (again) and Ricciardo who went backwards at the start (again) and couldn't get past Alonso.
- Perez = driver of the race, fighting faster cars and evil fuel consumption which is strange because according to Todt problem doesn't exist
