Ferrari F14T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Did you expect much development between two flyaway races happening in a week? Throughout the season they made quite a bit of changes to the rear of the car. The front didn't change much, I agree.

Agreed, however I think we can see theoretical development with regards to the sensors / monitors on the rear wing EP's, undertray and rear diffuser. Perhaps they're using this race as an opportunity to upload more definitive data in developing 2015 parts / chassis?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

I'm not talking specifically about this weekend obviously, but yes mostly the front end. I just mean most other teams have had multiple updates to their FW and new FW noses, but Ferrari has remained unchanged except for the FW upper flap depending on DF needed since early in the season.

Which could / would suggest Ferrari may be abandoning the design of this seasons FW and starting anew with a Mercedes-esque FW / Nose design?

Can you tell me what is the expected change of effects
The upper control arm is now longer and the upright is also taller, giving a more angled appearance. The longer upper arm rotates a smaller angle when the suspension moves and so it gives a smaller camber change. It will definitely improve traction coming out of corners and more even tyre temperatures when the engine tries to spin the tyres.

Ferrari does sometimes bring some future mechanical parts to test in the final races, I remember people talking about that earlier. Suspension update brought to Austin is one example. But with Brazilian GP happening just a few days after US race, I'm not sure anything new can be brought. They could, of course, bring a surplus and continue evaluating, we'd see.

I just posted photos from AUSTIN suspension of Alonso and Kimi, the perspectives are different (Photos taken from the media center ferrari RACE AUSTIN ), but they confirm, however, 'the photos posted by Diffuser.
It 'obvious that mine are in different perspective, but can be interesting and seem to confirm the previous in the same perspective

Yeh, I don't see any difference between the above parts, other than the finish on them.

It appears to have been tested by Alonso seems something mechanical rather than aerodynamic

I'm pretty sure the FW at the top left is new, at least the upper flap. The shape at the top of the upper flap is different as well as the shape at the bottom of the top flap.

to me it seems like Kimi had the prototype suspension and Alo had the old one
difficult to judge on the flo-vis pic though
