It's like they threw their filthy race pace from last season out the window...

I guess one more night of hope is ok, these guys better enjoy the hope while they have it.

I don't see how this is me being a 'fan-boy' - I'm giving an opinion that I feel is fairly reasonable and well jusitifed?

Do you understand where I'm coming from now?
Are you sure about that quote?

I remember reading during Austin last year that Lauda said be believed Lewis could have never matched Nico's pole, not even with a perfect lap for him.

I find it really hard to believe a driver would "admit" to be 0,1s slower if "all things are equal". I mean, aren't the cars always equal anyway? Rosberg got several poles, for instance last year, that were completely incontestable and with a significant margin in pretty much all sectors like Bahrain, Suzuka, Austin, Interlagos and Abu Dhabi.

Probably it's pretty close between these two and certain types of car behaviour favour one a bit more than another and that's why we see one doing good here and the other doing good there.

I'm curious to see their race pace(more like overall the Mercedes) and how does it compare to the others. I don't remember a single remarkable qualifying lap from Kimi in the Lotus, but there were some races that his race pace was impressive. Will Ferrari surprise and be quite faster than Williams and maybe "only" some 0,7s slower than Mercedes? 3 more hours of hope :D

I just can't understand Red Bull. The car looks neat and tidy and yet, it's very slow. You can't put it all on Renault as STR was even faster in S3

Just a curiosity: the worst quali. in all history for McLaren had been in 1976, Italy, 25º and 26º for James Hunt and Jochen Mass. But in that day John Watson, of Penske, had the last place.

It means that this is the first time in all history of the team when both drivers get the last row. Exactly. This was the worst performance in a quali EVER.

What a shame. =(

Yeah it's a shame, McLaren shouldn't be backmarkers, I hope they get the car up to speed soon.

Bit of a silver lining to McLaren's woes though, the lower teams will get a chance to make hay while the sun shines as far as trying to get as many points under their belt as they can, which will hopefully go some way to give them a more financially sound footing for next year.

Half an hour to go, just dragged myself out of bed! :D

*edit*

and on that note Kmag didn't get further than first lap out of pits.

This is ridiculous. Kev couldn't make it to the bloody grid. Again, a McLaren was not able to roll 3.3 miles. It only hurts when I laugh.

Quite a lot of debris blew out the back of his car.
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.
