What's positive for me is the planned engine upgrade for Spain (if true) which is not that far off. Of course we don't know Mercedes' development plans but Renault 's are apparently not til summer. Moving forward with the engine is going to be the biggest chunk of development potential for them so positive that they feel they can make further improvements so soon after already taking a major step.

Williams themselves also think that vettel's lap didn't show Ferrari's full potential, and I also feel there's more obvious tightening up work possible on the rear than on some other cars, which speaks of good potential in the car.

Yes, They mentioned that Sebastian pushed too hard the super soft tyres on the first sector of his flying lap. But I dont remember Sebastian´s comments about that.

Based on this article, it looks like the 2016 Haas F1 car is being developed in the wind tunnel in Maranello, and is based off of this year's Ferrari F1 car. Is this a way for Ferrari to increase the amount of CFD and aero development they can run for this year's car while also supporting the development of what sounds increasingly like a Ferrari B-team in Haas F1?

They can't do that - with only four engines this year they will milk this engine for at least three, if not four, races.

As it should be an actual 2015 engine, although tuned to lower than possible output, it might be possible to later have it tuned to greater output, who knows?
Supposing it won't need to have stuff such as crankshaft, connecting rods, and pistons changed, but software only...

Too bad about Kimis left rear, maybe the hub got damaged at the first corner incident when Sainz hit him from behind. That's racing.
There's a whole new energy in the team and with a podium in the first race this could turn out to be a great season!

I think Ferrari's target for 2015 should be closing the gap to 0.5 sec by the end of the year and finish clearly 2nd in the WCC. Then challenge Mercedes in 2016 with a few victories abd win the title by 2017. That should be the masterplan. To push for certain rule changes for 2017 and start from now building a car suited to those 2017 regs...or invest on the most important areas of the 2017 rules...
