Hamilton to Ferrari rumors are starting to ramp up for everyday that goes without a Mercedes contract signed.
Maybe he feels there´s one more year at the top for Mercedes but can´t really sign for one year and at the same time seeing the resurgence of Ferrari with only one driver having a fixed contract.

Even Bernie has talked to him in Bahrain wondering whats going on.

if any team is going to leap ahead of mercedes it is going to be McLaren ...they are clearly going for broke
I reckon that lewis is waiting to see how their gamble pays off ...so far , not so good

With Kimi's contract expiring at the end of this year and the Ferrari being much more competitive, Hamilton has a rather good bargaining chip now. Especially with his performances to date. He is winning, but Ferrari is beating Nico. His stock is climbing at Mercedes.

If (what I do think) Hamilton stays with Mercedes, they would keep Rosberg until the end of his contract, as a good backup (aka second driver). They could replace Rosberg in 2017 with Ricardo or Verstappen, as an in team replacement for a then older and nearing his end of career Hamilton. Bit like McLaren used to do with Lauda/Prost and Prost/Senna. This is where Ferrari went wrong to keep drivers like Barrichello and Massa too long next to Schumacher.

youre putting a lot of faith into the spin job the maclaren front office is feeding the public...mclaren will be nowhere near the front of the grid this year and its debateable if they will be next year based on their very recent history with the mercedes Pu.
Ferrari and mercedes are not sitting still... they are in a development race right now so just thinking that maclaren will just figure out their pu and suddenly be at the front of the grid is a fantasy... fighting in the midfield? probable... at the front of the grid fighting for podiums ... no chance... not this year

I think for the team chemistry they will keep Kimi, though deep down they are curious about Hamilton.

I don't think hamilton is worried about whether or not McLaren reach the front this year , it's where they will be thereafter that matters to him ; Lauda may pretend he got hamilton to sign for mercedes , but the reality is that ross brawn went to see him when he was visiting his mum , sat in the kitchen , opened his laptop and said ...this is where we are , and this is where we will be next year and hamilton signed ; could see a similar thing happening to get him back to McLaren if mercedes look like they are being caught ...they don't has ross anymore , do they

According to Arrivebene it all depends on Kimi´s performance. After the Bahrain GP the pen got a little bit closer to the paper.

It's been as good as a done deal for ages let's be honest, will just be drawn out until the summer to make sure his performance level doesn't fall off the proverbial cliff.

Or perhaps Hamilton is stringing Mercedes along long enough to get his third title and then retire. He idolised Senna when he was a boy and getting three titles would be a nice parallel to his idol. He then goes back to Nicole and they have a music career together. We know he likes his music...

Just a left of field idea thrown in there...

He mentioned some time ago that he wants to go after Schumacher's 7. It's a very tall order.. especially other guys in the hunt..Haha... I think Hamilton is keeping one eye on the red team too... One more year at Mercedes to round out 4 WDC's then he jumps to Ferrari for 2017 to 2020 for the other 4... Move to Williams then BAM it's a career!

BOTTAS TO FERRARI? SILLY SEASON OFF TO AN EARLY START
Former double world champion Mika Hakkinen, now involved in the management of the Williams driver’s career, said this week that if he was the decision-maker at Ferrari, he is not sure he would retain Kimi Raikkonen.

On the other hand, “Valtteri showed how well he can handle the pressure” as he raced Sebastian Vettel in Bahrain, Hakkinen told his sponsor Hermes in an interview.
Media sources now suggest that Bottas may have already penned a preliminary contract with Maranello based Ferrari.

The rumours also indicate that the forthcoming F1 entrant Haas, which is being widely referred to as a Ferrari B-team, could house Raikkonen next year, as the Finn is pushing for the 2016 ‘option’ in his contract to be signed.
