With almost 1,5 sec time delta between the tires this could be a straightforward OOP strategy?
And if that's the case Ferrari could have the upper hand with longer option tire stints, coz the key for winning the race is to minimize prime tyre time spent on track ...

Depends on the temps imo.

Yeah you're right, at least for Bahrain race when there was a similar time delta in FP2 on friday but in the race track temp was much lower hence a small delta - if not negative one - between them allowing Kimi to do a better OPO strategy.
But here we could see similar track temp both from FP2 and the race, so ...

Brilliant lap by Rosberg!
Ferrari further away then expected, interesting. We´ll see if the race follows the same story.

If you take out Mercedes and Red Bull (edit: Toro Rosso as well ) there are some huge gaps between teammates in Q3!

I expect Rosberg to try to slow Hamilton back in to the Ferraris as "pay back" for what he believe happened previously. Hamilton will then pass Rosberg who will then end up getting in a fight with said Ferraris.

Rosberg's only hope is to ignore everyone else and just drive the wheels off that Mercedes. If he tries to be clever he'll get eaten alive by those behind.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Ferrari not quite as good as i expected, Vettel is closer to Bottas than Rosberg, and that's leaving Kimi aside.

Good thing Hamilton vs Rosberg is back for this weekend.

:? Made up future actions (nothing happened yet - "Rosberg slowing someone") as a made up reaction ("what he believe" implies he's the one making something up) to events that did happen, Hamilton slowing down. It's weird that one event that did happen is questioned. Why would he be eaten alive BTW, his pace in FP2 was fine.

- people like Lauda should be removed from F1 teams, biased loud-mouths acting as team principals. Look at his sour face reaction because not "his" driver was on pole,
- nice to see that they all targeted someone and achieved nothing
- Toro Rosso faster than RB and Sainz is the real new Senna
- Raikkonen another year of "fired mid-season" form.
- Lotus' delusion of pace and position related to track, engine and competition lasted as long as it deserved. Incredibly they managed not to mess up only Palmer's session.

Lewis has to surely do the opposite of Rosbergs strategy if he wants a shot at the win.
Would love to see role reverse of last year, lewis to use the meduim at the end.
That would make a good climax.

Why so? Lewis was able to get the job done on the same strategy plenty of times last year. Ferrari don't look very close around here so I assume it will just be a similar story to the races last year.
