Hamilton's spin was a technical issue. It did look rather strange.

regarding the crash, he just locked up completely and didn't let go of the brake once. Wasn't even that high speed, looked almost silly. Rather strange mistake by hamilton.

The front wheels were locked up but the rear wheels were still turning, McNish on the BBC said it's because front wheels clear the water giving the rear's a dryer path.

Ferrari fastest trough all speed traps. By a considerable amount. Check SPD3 aka start/finish line. That a a HUGE difference.

Will be interesting to see whether they can keep this kind of advantage trough qualifying. Doubtful, since it's a known thing merc PUs tend to run detuned during practice sessions. Even so, difference was not as big in previous races.

Speed traps and long runs looking good for Ferrari. Still it's just FP2.

I'll never understand the fasination with speed traps, being #1 through the speed traps most weekends didn't do a lot for William 's last year.

They're available on the event specific event and timing information page on the FIA website.

Agreed, the are so many variables in getting the fastest lap that focusing solely on it, is a fools errand.
Mercedes didn't even register in the top 7 speed traps yet still got the outright fastest lap time in FP1.

Yes, it's free practice. The sword cuts both ways when extrapolating any data.

Nasr into the wall, red flag.. Not looking good for Lewis or Alonso to get some laps and set up in. Qualifying should be dicey!!
