Illegal Brake's Duct of Williams & Toyota

Post

Does anybody know, in what point Williams's and Toyota's brake-duct are illegal?

The FIA scrutineering report refered to a part of the technical regulations which can all be found on their website.

I think the brake ducts were longer than a wheel diameter, meaning it could be seen beyond the tire from the side.

Yupp,I heard that their brakes are bigger. There should be no appeal to the disqualification because given Canaa's track is so hard on the brakes,Williams and and Toyota certainly have the advantage of their brakes.

Well acording to Sam Michael there was no performance and brake coling gain and it was unintentional. But then again it´s a Williams guy who's saying this because if it was another team...

Size does matter

Coming from industries that had to manufacture parts within strict tolerance I'll go so far as to say any "mistake" like that was either cheating or incompetance.

yes it does sound odd that a mistake like that could slip through these days.... it was obviously modified for Canada in particular so they would have been referring to the technical regulations to see how far they could push the envelope you would assume...
do we know if they both failed in the same area???

hey guest, that sounds like homework..... hehe ;)

Williams seems a little bit confused in their brake department...first that incident with cooling ducts to small and now too big...with everything closely monitored these days I cannot believe that this slipped thru...and even not a competitor pointing out the fault...
So well done williams...having improved your simulations and windtunnelarea by the last fraction of percents and then failing a simple measurement by over an inch.unbelievable.

hey all,

yes nice work Stik, put so sweetly, succintly and absolutely scathing.....hehe
Im still at a loss to see how a bad batch of pistons got through the Mercedes QA program for European GP...

Not sure how that post relates to this topic totally, an up to date website is always nice but there are hundreds of websites dedicated to that and precious few dedicated to the more technical aspects of F1 which is what i come here for...
