Why? they did a shitty work during winter and things improved(at least a Little bit) during the season. Its what I have said.
No. You said the exact opposite.
No, I said "things go ok when they make a great job" which means: good Winter-good or very good season

But, they are well known for their great in-season work, which was clear in 2009 when the car was terrible but it improved during the season. It was not a great season but at least the improved clearly.

2011 is even clearer, shitty car in the first pre-season tests, they changed it completely and the car was quite good during the season. That was a awesome wokr in only a few weeks.

I don't know how much Lewis Hamilton has helped the team in that, because early 2009 the Mclaren was a dog of a car and even Hamilton said on the onboard radio that they need to build him a new car if he could stand a chance to fight for a win. Eventually they did build a race winning car halfway through the season. When Mclaren have struggled, they managed to come back with Hamilton behind the wheel. But since 2013 when Hamilton went to Mercedes, they haven't been anywhere near the front. I don't know how Hamilton is to work with, but I think he must be a great driver that provides great, accurate feedback on where to improve the car. I think there are a few drivers on the grid that have that ability in doing so. I think Hamilton, Rosberg, Vettel and Alonso have that ability to do that. If Mclaren sort out the PU issues and really generate great power and speed for the car, then I think Mclaren could become competitive again, because they have Alonso behind the wheel, who really knows how to describe the characteristics of the car and improve the areas that are needed. I genuinely believe that.

Merc was the best engine, also the only ones to complete 2009 with KERS

McLaren has never evolved the car since 2009 for more than 2 years, and in 2013 it cost them dearly.

Is this new? Asics as clothing partner? Motorsport.com reporting they renewed the Santander relationship as well!

The Asics partnership, AFAIK, is a new one. Santander is old news, though

Why those particular brands?

It's not a clothing partner: "Having Asics in place as an official supplier sees the McLaren Team proudly wearing Asics sporting training shoes specifically tailored with the aim of improving performance by reducing injury"

Asics also provided Button with his clothing for the London Marathon last year. I don't know if that out-of-F1 partnership is part of the deal/a personal partnership Button has/something they simply did as an extra gesture?

I'm a McLaren fan but with the mountain they have to climb this year The North Face would be a good match ..

High end brands that Ron only wants Mclaren to be affiliated with?

Second best driver in history of motorsport:

“It’s been a very long winter – the longest I can remember without Formula 1 – so I’m really looking forward to getting back in the car. This track is always exciting to drive, partly because of its street circuit nature – tight run-off areas, a bumpy surface and low grip – but also because everyone is impatient to go racing again.

“The important thing is to get a good start – usually everyone is eager and it’s quiet common for there to be some drama off the line in the first race. This year, it’ll be interesting to see how everyone’s tyre choices play out, and the strategy each team picks, but it’s only on Sunday afternoon that we’ll get to see where we really are. On Friday and Saturday, we’ll be working hard to predict the track’s characteristics on race day, and focusing on setting up the car in its final specification. It’ll also be interesting to see how the improvement in the power unit deployment pans out on this tricky circuit, too.”

Jenson Button:

“I’m so excited to go racing again! Albert Park is always a great season-opener – I love Melbourne as a city, and the track is pretty good, too. The warm weather is a welcome change and the higher track temperatures than we’ve been used to in testing always pose a bit of a challenge.

“In Australia it’s always a new slate each day in terms of set-up, as the track starts off very green on the Friday and wears in more and more as the weekend goes on. We are planning to bring some updates to this race, so we’ll be working on configuring those into our set-up right from FP1. Albert Park is a tricky place to start the season at – it’s an unforgiving, technical, bumpy street circuit, so it really gets you going after a few months off from racing, but that’s why we love driving there.”

They have signed a deal with Asics, the crème de la crème of the ghetto training jerseys.
