I wonder what other drivers really think of Nico........

Jenson being kind of stingy!
Well, unless one of us crashes into him. I mean, Lewis Hamilton is very rich and has a lot of money, flies around in a private jet, so I’m sure he can afford to pay me. The only possibility, however, would be when Nico laps me because we’re not fast enough. Anyway, I’m open to offers. And anyway, I’m retiring… sorry, taking a sabbatical.”

Before this season I was annoyed by the way some guys were posting about their beloved drivers in a moronic way, but it is much more fun just to approve everything they say. Like this you end up with enjoying pure slapstick conversations.
The only way to keep this thread from pure bullshit is to exclude every discussion about Britney and the other girl and to put it into another thread like we had it in Spain. That was the only normal race thread this season.
That was a good idea and should be used if the nonsense returns. Though yes, its usually funnier but some times its exhausting to keep a rational discussion.

Hello guys,

I'll have an interview with Bottas this weekend. Do you have any questions for him? I'll give the answers after the GP.

Thanks.

What happened to the Renault negotiations, are they on the table for 2018?
Do you think Williams will be able to compete in 2017 or is the team focussing on 2018?
Do you feel there will be more critical eyes on you now Massa is out and a rookie is in?
If 2017 is disappointing, and teams like Mclaren, Ferrari and Renault aren't interested, would you concider stopping with Formula 1?

From Rosberg's perspective, he only needs to be the third fastest person out there so I'm not sure it's worth the risk of a) pushing his engine to try and win and b) risking wheel-to-wheel racing. Far better just to drop back, let Hamilton head off around the first corner and then pace yourself to either lead the Red Bulls or dodge a Verstappen Banzai! and come home third.

Whilst I am sure that a big part of him wants to race for the win, the WDC is a much greater prize. He only has to look across the garage to see the consequence of putting a single GP ahead of an entire season. If McLaren hadn't pushed the tyre life in a desperate attempt to win the penultimate GP in 2007 and, instead, instructed Hamilton to cruise around then he'd have won his first WDC then and there rather than over a year later.

Long term perspective, something that Rosberg has made a strength out of this year.

On further reflection, there is an argument that being out in front is the safest place (can't be backed into other cars, more of a cushion if the unexpected happens) but, if I was Rosberg, I'd get nervous of Hamilton's front end plate meeting my rear tyre. A late race missing front wing is a problem, a missing rear tyre is extremely difficult to come back form.

Does he think the regulation changes will suit his driving style more than most and why?

Nico will not take any risk. If he Lewis is behind him and tries to overtake Nico, he will let the door absolutely openned. 2007 is a good example of what he must not do.

How much extra physical training to the new 2017 require?

Will the drivers be the limiting factor if tyres and fuel aren't an issue, thus does he think that on certain circuits an with certain track conditions that drivers need to pace themselves?

What will be Williams target in 2017?

Will the cars be easier or harder to drive in 2017?

Who could be the next Finnish F1 driver?

Would he prefer cockpits as it is know, a halo device, or a closed cockpit?

What would he change in order to enhance F1?

Everyone's assuming Lewis will be ahead. Who's to say Nico won't get pole and disappear into the distance.. Lewis needs to get the job done on Saturday and get a good start on Sunday if he's even to stand a chance.
