Williams FW28 2006 tech development

Post

Promised to do it and here it is , rather late than ever

Below are the points that are going to be highlighted . Some aero parts were altered during 2006 but some others remained unchanged from the launch to the last race .

Airbox winglet was an area where Williams experimented a lot , struggling to find out the perfect aero balance .

Thank you bar555, as usual you put a very detailed developpement review.

There's one thing that puzzled me a bit, although it's not important.
On the first pic of the topic the upside view of the FW28 show a very low downforce spec, with a one plane front wing, but in the "front wing development" part later, the sketch show even Monza spec has a two plane front wing.

Is the sketch wrong, or is the first pic from pre-season testing?
(or maybe some perspective / effect is deceiving my eyes).

This livery was wonderfull. The best Williams livery since the Renault's days, and one of the best overall. I'm in love with it.

The upside pic is taken from Monza (thus the low downforce set up) and if you take a closer look you will be able to see that the front wing had indeed 2 planes just like the sketch .

Here is a better image of William's front wing used in Monza

Notice that in Monza the T-Wings were not used but the Infy fins had a triple profile
