I think it's ok in the Speculation Thread. Once we have an official Car Thread these discussions should (and will) be moved to the Team Thread.

It's going to be mainly light grey with black/red/dark orange accents, there is Castrol sponsorship and there's a new sponsor as well, but my mate can't tell what it says.
WaikeCU wrote: Well, how my mate explained it, I sorta thought... wait a minute... that's exactly like a Force India, but then he told me it's kind of MP4/4'ish where the white is light grey and the Marlboro red is orange and black. He also said the cockpit part is orange, but it doesn't run down towards the back. It's just that part of the cockpit, which is orange. He also couldn't tell exactly of the pictures he took if it was red or orange, until he zoomed in on it. So maybe it's kind of a orange with tint of red. Perhaps a pearlescent of orange and red. That, I can't confirm tho.

However, team wear has changed as well. Those ugly checkered flag kind of designed polo shirts are now gone and replaced by a grey polo with black, orange accents and sponsors in white.

I can tell it's reliable. My mate works for Honda a few years already. He's working overtime at the Brussels motor show this past weeks. Friday Stoffel came by on the Honda stand as a special guest to do some publicity stuff and so on. He tried to socialize with him, but I guess Stoffel has moved up the ladders already since the press all wanted a piece of him. Back in 2014 when Stoffel was still in the lower formulas, he came in his office where my mate works and shook everyones hands, socialized and such. Back then he was just that Belgian talented driver who works for McLaren. Now two years later, he's in that second seat full time. How time flies...

So from what you're describing I'm imagining something a bit like this...:

Image

...Only that it would be more grey than silver and the orange a bit more orangey; perhaps the chevron around the cockpit is more like the McLaren swoosh shape?

If I had the photoshop skills, I'd show you what I mean - that could be quite nice though.

I think that's close tho. I think it's that orange. It's darker and somewhat red. So I think that's right. We just need to change the chrome color.

I've been googling around and my eye struck this:

I think it's this light grey, but with the darker orange like you've mentioned and some black bit and accents and I believe we have the livery of the new McLaren. We just have to wait a bit longer and find out. I'm curious as well on how it really looks like. Inside my mind I can imagine how it will be with my mate describing the picture he took and I hope it is like what I'm thinking.

That image highlights the monumental error mclaren did when they ditched the chrome. Every sponsor would look amazing on it and they could have been the chrome cars that were instantly recognizable forever.

I dunno nothing about the new livery but I'm sure that it will be the same as the MP4-31 (black) but with more orange in it, instead of red. Orange and black. More black than orange.

They could be actually teasing the new livery on this second image. https://twitter.com/McLarenF1/status/824945686575722496

True, this probably doesn't have orange. By the looks, I think that's a T, whereas I was talking about a polo. Two different things.

The polo has orange accents on the outer edge of the sleeves and on the inside of the buttons. It also has a zipper pocket underneath the McLaren logo on the chest. There's also no Chandon logo I believe on the shoulder part of sleeve.

Meanwhile, I have asked my mate for more hints on the McLaren livery. There was an internal mail at his work where they've ordered employees to delete any photos that were taken regarding any information about the livery of the car that was seen during the event in Brussels. So no, I haven't seen any pictures regarding the livery. What he told me is that it for sure isn't the light grey I thought it was on that P1 GTR concept. It's not exactly light light grey tbh. My mate said it's more like that grey of the T-shirt Stoffel is wearing in that picture, which is also the grey of the team polo my mate shared. So that's that. Regarding layout livery it's similar to this concept livery:

Image

But swap the white with the grey Stoffel is wearing and swap the red with orange.
