it is true that evolution and research into aerodynamics will yield similar end product (different teams coming up with same type of aerodynamic solutions).. however, there has been several instances where Ferrari came up with a certain elements on a car and days or weeks later, it ends up on a different car...bernard wrote:Yeah. One thing keeps bothering me, though.Every paper i read about the new nose says the same thing; a ferrari style nosecone...! God! Don't these people have eyes in their head. Or do they think that just because ferrari has been good in the first half of the season, every aerodynamical change that comes out is bound to be a copy of ferrari's design? Probably some news agency has put that out, and then every news paper is printing the same thing, without even seeing the car.
"Yeah, look, it's positioned in front of the car... as is the ferrari nose! Obviously a rip off!"
What pisses me of is that this has been mclaren's design line for who knows how many years and now it's suddenly ferrari's design.
(If you want a ferrari nose copy look at sauber/toyota)
Ferrari introduced the modern nose in the F2001 and if you look at the current BAR it's nose is quite similar (they both droop down pretty low). The F2002's nose does not droop down as much. Looking at McLaren's nose, it is not quite the same shape as they introduced in the 18 or 19 or even 17; it is pretty much closer to Ferrari's wide shape instead of pointy like McLaren's (in the 17D at least).bernard wrote:Yeah.
