Advantage still there, not massive, not masking the mediocracy any more, all they have is 8MPH straight line speed adv. Bottas brilliant here.GPR-A wrote: β30 Apr 2017, 15:42Yeah right.Chene_Mostert wrote: β29 Apr 2017, 18:33No more massive power advantage to mask chassis / aero mediocracy.
Bottas just beat your superior red car with his mediocre chassis / areoChene_Mostert wrote: β29 Apr 2017, 18:33No more massive power advantage to mask chassis / aero mediocracy.
Wasn't the whole world accepted, at the end of 2015, Ferrari matched Mercedes in PU? At the beginning of this year, Gunther Steiner even proclaimed that Ferrari might be having better PU than Mercedes. Only now to see 8 MPH (13 KMPH) in race mode !!! That is a lot of speed difference on heavy fuel loads. It means, every time a Mercedes is in front, a Ferrari should forget overtaking.Chene_Mostert wrote: β30 Apr 2017, 15:46Advantage still there, not massive, not masking the mediocracy any more, all they have is 8MPH straight line speed adv. Hamilton showed he had the pace.....Phil wrote: β30 Apr 2017, 15:52Congratulations Valtteri Bottas! What a weekend, what a drive, what a win! Well deserved.
Hamilton had a really weird race. He demonstrated he had the pace, but once closing in, he had overheating problems. Not sure if Bottas suffered similarly but to a lesser degree when coming up on back markers. Vettel/Ferrari clearly demonstrated though that they have no issues driving close at this race... did Mercedes get the cooling slightly wrong this race or did they just have an issue on Hamiltons race?
