It wasn't a 10 second penalty. It was a 10 second stop go penalty, which is about 32 seconds.

Merc top HP over the old Ferrari engine really is rediculous. Any Honda people want to get in on that? Complaint season is open, just ask Seb.

Keep calm. Drive through + 10s is the hardest penalty they have given for years. Well deserved penalty and no need to kill the racing with a DSQ.

A very sad and sorry state of affairs in F1 these days. The safety car being used as a pawn to spice up a normally dull race leads to chaos. Then a driver clearly uses his car as a weapon, and gets a slap on the wrist. The lead drive pits for safety reasons and then at the same time the dangerous driver gets a penalty that just happens to bring him out next to his rival...

This isn't pure racing, this a circus act. Utter utter trash. Without free to air coverage after 2018 this sport is finished.

Yup. Hopefully he will learn from it. Although the Break checking of Lewis was not nice he needs to keep calm in such situations.

I agree with you on the penalty matter. If you keep in mind that they gave Grosjean a race ban for his opportunistic moves a few years ago then this deliberate shunting your car into a competitor needs a far more bigger penalty than just a stop and go. Schumacher got disqualified from the race or even the championship back in 1997 (european gp), IIRC.

Mercedes was faster in sectors 1&3, but Vettel with the Ferrari was butchering Hamilton in s2. Thus, Hamilton could never get a proper attempt with the DRS.

The audio from Lewis onboard sounded like he never accelerated and he didn't slow down. Vettel should have got a 10 second time penalty for causing a collision. And then a DQ for dangerous driving.
