A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

If the information is true the new carbon gearbox structure will encompass a lightweight cartridge (that will house the gearbox).
It is the same solution as Mercedes one.
In Hungary teams have 2 days for testing (after the race) I am guessing then we will see the new gearbox installed on FW40.
"When Mercedes hitches one of the two W08s from a van at midday, a mechanic rumbles. "No photos. From me, you could shoot 50,000, but we have the instruction to not allow any photos."
"Williams, on the other hand, appears openly. A large truck is parked in front of the McLaren garage. The tailgate is open. On the upper floor is the Williams FW40 by Lance Stroll embedded. With nose and front wing. When the mechanics release the car from its rigid position in the truck, they simultaneously remove the front part. The tailgate is also dismantled. We are free to take photos. The mechanics have nothing against it."
So no updates to show yet!
