Last time when Lewis started on SS tyre was last month at Monza race when he did 32 laps on them ... at that time there where 38 degree Celsius on track ...

Here, being not the first time so accurate, Mario Isola predicts no more than 20 laps and at the end of FP3 Lewis did a small race sim stint doing laps on higher 1.34... presumably in order to check a one stop race ... after all an one stop strategy means a 20 laps on SS tyre and a 33 lap stint on soft one which is doable had he starts from the pole ...

Both Mercedes' set their fastest times on Softs (in first 10 minutes of the session), while everyone else set the fastest times on SS (in the last 30 minutes or so).

FIA seems to be sleeping since yesterday. They usually post the lap times within 30 minutes after the session, but since yesterday, they took almost 8 hours to post it. No luck so far to find FP3 lap times.

So Bottas was nothing more than wear and tear and the Ferrari gearbox isn't damage proof. Vettel really has dodged a bullet with that crash with Stroll.

After more than 10 years the lap record set by Michael will be scrapped but I don`t know had this time was set on the qualy or on the race ...

Nevertheless, quite impressive cars nowadays being +150kg heavier means at least a 6 sec gain (0,4 sec for each 10kg on this track) ... yeah, I know, cars have now more than 200HP since ten years ago ...

Not so accurate data but I`ll get a try :
Lewis (S tyre): 1,29.7 ; 1,29.0 ... than on SS tyre: 1,35.0 ; 1,34.8 ; 1,34.8
Vettel (S tyre): 1,33.6 ; 1,33.5 ; 1,33.7 ... than on SS tyre: 1,29.4 ; 1,29.6 ; 1,29.6

Definitely marginal advantage of ss tyre compared to s tyre on this track in these conditions - Kimi on ss now only 2 tenths faster than Seb on s, Hamilton on s faster than Bottas on ss.
