A Honda powered driver won Indy, and he happened to be an ex Honda F1 driver Also, Andretti said Honda gives the option for power or reliability bias in the 500. Andretti said he always chooses power.

Not sure how that can be a misrepresentation of facts when really it's talking about how the Honda engineers felt.

I don't think the relationship was over yet, but McLaren surely lost all hopes of being competitive soon doing things like Honda wanted. It was the beginning of the end.
