This sounds quite loud, im guessing its because no bodywork ontop and in enclosed space but would be nice if they were slightly louder.

Pretty much. However I think they need to replace the microphones that FOM use to get the cars sounds transmitted better across broadcast.

On the subject of sound I would like if along with the engine sound they located mics close to the wheels so we could hear more slipped and lock ups like in forumla e (might be loud due to lack of engine noise I know) even just for replying incidents

These engines register something like 110db don't they? Something that loud in any sort of confined space is deafening. Like being in a bedroom with Metallica playing a set five feet away loud.

I think their idea of "all new" and ours might be different. This won't be a clean sheet of paper design but a development from last year's unit that incorporates lots of little changes, all of which mean the unit is "new" compared to last year's.

Interesting that he talks about there being lots of 5 millisecond gains to be found. 5 milliseconds!

Plus, worst case scenario I bet they have a backup supply of 2017 spec PU's they could fall back on....at least for the works team.
