Look at the tunnel on the floor under the exhaust and rear crash structure.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

The exits are old, no? I would say is where the light ends and the shadow is starting... it looks like two "levels" of the floor...

From this pic, it doesn't look like a double diffuser type setup. Its difficult to say, but I don't see any openings

Maybe someone can lighten up the pic a bit. maybe we can see better then

Scarbs commented on this last week. He believes the duct is simply to contain/channel the airflow coming from the coke bottle section and guide it towards the central part of the top of the diffusor. The goal is to maximize the flow over the taller part of the Gurney flaps centered under the crash structure. There is no gaping hole in the Ferrari floor as there was during the double diffusor days.

From Scarbs F1 DriveTribe page:

"There is then the dip in the middle of the diffuser, this boat-tail shape is where the stepped underfloor sweeps up to meet the rest of the diffuser. Teams direct airflow around the sidepods into the boat tail to drive the taller gurney flaps allowed in the middle of the diffuser. Already Ferrari added various flaps and vanes guide airflow, but the new car has a coved bodypanel to enclose the boat tail against the gearbox/crash structure. This prevents the pressure building up in the boat tail from spilling upwards over the wide sections of the diffuser."

The exit appears to be significantly larger than the entrance, so would have a diffuser like effect of the air exiting. I can't see how that would be helpful. Also I would expect it to compromise the rest of the diffuser (top surface) more than any benefit it may bring.

That's exactly the point, to allow the air to expand and increase pressure on top of the diffuser in a controlled fashion.

It will be interesting to see if there's some hot air from around the engine as well. On one hand, it's turbulent air. On the other hand, it's hot and has higher energy.

If the air is expanding in the expected fashion, wouldn't this reduce pressure over the diffuser rather than increase it.
