A couple of new strakes have been added to the diffuser. The following is an image of the old diffuser from Bahrain:F1Krof wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 00:06It's new, like brand new. Freshly made. Not new new.mantikos wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 00:04Whats new?Blaze1 wrote: ↑10 May 2018, 23:29New Diffuser:

Jokes aside, I hate to say it but: "I told you so". Don't expect too much from Merc. My guess is that they have a good package overall, its just that they don't quite understand it yet. More so, I wouldn't want to change much in Spanish GP where I had the most dominant Winter Testing. It will be the perfect time to find out whether:
a) they were fooled by Ferrari's & Red Bulls bluff
b)They've misunderstood the data from testing and went astray from China onward
c)Everything is as the data say, it's just the car is not good enough to match the Ferrari
And this is the reason why I think Merc didn't bring anything big.
Yup, you're rightBlaze1 wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 00:35A couple of new strakes have been added to the diffuser. The following is an image of the old diffuser from Bahrain:F1Krof wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 00:06It's new, like brand new. Freshly made. Not new new.

I hope so. As a Mercedes fan, this is getting frustrating that we see very few and very little updates on the car. Last year they brought a big package to Barcelona so we had hopes for this race, but nothing noticeable so far. By the way does it mean the car is already so good that it doesn't need any updates, and their lack of pace is mainly set-up-related?
Legality reasons. It's blocking the vanes on the floor when viewed from above.Sevach wrote: ↑10 May 2018, 18:22https://imgr2.auto-motor-und-sport.de/M ... 162360.jpg
A little tip in the middle of the deflector.
I'm not so certain. I wanted to draw my own conclusions about it, but then I thought about the wheel spinning back forwards in that area. It might just remove interference the spinning wheel has in that area by creating some sort of barrier between both.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 03:35Looks too aggressive to guid the air. That thing is definitely tripping the air as it flows over so I reckon it is a vortex generator.
I assure you this piece is not moving - its molded into the dang suspension arm and is too small to encounter enough air to move it, the only way its moving is if the arm breaks off.
It looks like the vane is perpendicular to both arms when viewed in plan. I'm not sure what regulation is dictating that however.DiogoBrand wrote: ↑11 May 2018, 03:12https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201805 ... 4d558e.jpg

I've seen that little flap on Sauber's car as well. Is it there to create some sort of outwash?
