Congrats Mercedes on an engineered pole. My respect for Pirelli dipped below zero today.

Pretty odd seeing both Ferrari and Red Bull resort to the Soft tyres. Mercedes are in the pound seats now, track position is king.
If the wind is similar for the race, we are going to see a lot of small mistakes. It's going to come down to being meter-perfect in the braking zone, I believe, more than anything else.

Mercedes on Mercedes Super Soft tyres has taken the first row.
Then Ferrari on Mercedes Soft tyres.
Now that Mercedes seems to have lost the huge unfair vantage gained by writing the Hybrid engine rules, it starts to gain another unfair advantage by forcing other teams to use tyres tailored made from them for at least 3 races.
I'm disgusted!

It's almost blatant proof of an illegitimate formula.

Hulk sounded like misfiring or some issues with shifting, was very late into 8th gear, then shifted back and forth and aborted the first lap, second lap wasn't quick enough, probably still having issues

Gearbox pressure issue.

Edit: that makes no sense lul - fuel pressure issue is a more accurate description, the gearbox making wonky sounds was the symptom.

Just to remind:

Even in that case after that test Mercedes solved their tyres problems.
Very unfair in my opinion.
Someone could think that Mercedes Pirelli and perhaps FIA (which has not banned both from motorsport after that) are colluding since years.

Yeah sure. Accuse Mercedes for cheating, while Ferrari is running LITERALLY, FIA APPROVED illegal parts! Way to go people. =D> =D> =D>

It's one thing to have parts declared illegal after they passed scrutineering, it's an entirely different thing to burn tyres lap after lap in pit lane during winter testing, just to have them changed to fit your car for the actual race.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!
