It will keep being brought up though. Even Vettel himself has buried the idea and it hasn’t stopped.
Read my post directly above yours. I agree with you with regard to it needing to stop however until the point I’m making sinks in it won’t stop.

It was not me who mentioned the tyre topic here. It was Big Tea and I neither think he is a Ferrari fan (I guess that's what you meant with me and my pals), nor do I think that he has any problems with Mercedes.
I am not a Ferrari fan, and the question was not team specific. Although most fanboys did not even seem to read the question
That quote doesn't debunk anything though. Ferrari "probably" have been worse with normal tires according to Vettel, but that doesn't prevent Mercedes from benefiting from modified tires more and hence relatively much better of with the special tires compared to competition.Restomaniac wrote: ↑28 Jun 2018, 20:08You clearly are seeing as Vettel admitted that Ferrari ‘seemed to be more comfortable on those tyres than the usual ones’ to use your words.
Look here’s a link for you. http://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/235 ... -due-tyres
I’ll even cut and paste to save you having to look for it.
"I think it's pretty straightforward," he said. "Obviously you don't get the chance to revisit this kind of decisions that are made [very often], but we did it today and the result is that if we had had the normal tyres on Sunday, it would have probably been worse, so it was the correct call. It was our fault for not having the same tyre wear or life as other people."
I hope this post will be allowed to stay. It may help stop this idiotic and clearly debunked subject being brought up in every race thread.

This threads history says otherwise!
They are used because of a specific brand of tarmac not corner characteristics.
The Halo weights a lot more: "teams have found that the Halo and its mountings can weigh up to 15kg"
