I mean less than a tenth separated them it is insanely close between them. The heat and the tires could make things interesting tomorrow, it's so close that any mistake will cost you the race. I hope the race tomorrow is as good as qualifying.

Not trying at all. Just saying that some people were of the opinion that Ferrari will be a no match for Mercedes here. I am sure this level of competition will make that pole all the more special, rather than coasting half a second in front of the field.

Did Ricciardo get another lap in after his DRS issue? He didn't make a dent into the 4 tenths on Verstappen. Is he saving a fresh pair of boots for the race thinking it's diminishing returns burning a new set to gain a position? Did he have a set to burn?




I've seen alot of complaints lately about boring races and lack of overtaking this season, but the competition in F1 is about so much more than that. This season is shaping up sensationally with multiple manufacturers, four previous World Champions and new talents taking Pole Positions and Race Wins. It hasn't been on such a knife-edge for years!

Yes, unfortunately. He had more in hand for sure. I don't think that Kimi would have been just half a tenth off Vettel's time if Vettel had done his best lap.
Nonetheless a very good job by Ferrari. I don't know if it were their upgrades, but actually it can be said that the Ferrari is even the slightly better car than the Mercedes in Silverstone. Surprising, no question.
