I really didn't think Mercedes would have the pace today but Hamilton showed us differently. Still not sure how VER got out in front of VET, bit of a blunder by Ferrari there, but a strong race from VER nevertheless, same for ALO and.. SIR:) nice defending in the slowest car on the grid. Solid race all in all!

Perez deserves a one race ban though, ridiculous behaviour.

Tomorrow, the reality is that Hamilton doesn't need to win. He can happily come second to Verstappen or even Vettel. Vettel needs the win, or at least to be ahead of someone ahead of Hamilton. That means Hamilton can afford to let Max through in turn 1 and block Vettel, heck, he could even go P3 and still be reasonably happy. Indeed, P3 with Vettel P2 wouldn't be the worst outcome - only 3 points lost rather than 7 if he comes P2 to Vettel's P1.

So Hamilton can play the long game a bit. I could see Max wanging one up the inside, Vettel trying to follow. All three out, Kimi or Bottas wins. Again, Hamilton wouldn't be too upset by that outcome.

But the reality is max does not care about lewis. He does not give anything about what happens to him. Lewis is in de crosshair of verstappen. And if he stays there there will be a dnf for him.

No way verstappen will alow hami a win, will not happen. Its dnf or second for hami. Redbull is strong enough on racepace hami will not escape his faith

There will be no long game. There will straight up attack first round of the race when the tires are still warming up,
And no drs...you can bet on that

Just reflecting on the prediction that Max would not allow Lewis to win.

How do you know Ocon would do better? Ocon is struggling to beat Sergio Perez, for crying out loud.

Sure you can put Perez in too. I only mentioned Ocon because he is on Merc's payroll already (and Wolff was complaining about there not being a seat for him in 2019).

How can u say Bottas is not good enough? He is doing exactly what he is supposed to. He is helping Lewis when in need, and he is helping the team to secure the constructors title by keeping Raikkonen at bay.

Lets take a look at Racing point, where u have two independent drivers which are more or less the same in terms of pace. Another race where one pushed the other into a wall and a big fat zero in the end of the day.

It's just my opinion, that's all. If he'd finished ahead of Vettel a few more times the gap to the championship could be 50-60 points, which is helping Hamilton even more.

Ain't it funny (but nice at the same time), how quiet and polite the race threads become when driver X wins fair and square and fanboys dont have anything to moan about? All in all an OK race although i missed the start by my own mistake thinking the start was at 4pm i tuned in after lap 16

In this race, Merc was using spec 2 PU? There are 6 races to go and they already did 2 with the latest spec. So which race could they use again spec.2 PU for the last time? Maybe Brasil or Abu Dhabi? Or they would use this latest spec for the remaining 6 races? That means 8 races which are a bit risky, don`t you think?

i like racing, if verstappen drives bad i will say so i have no bias toward driver who dont know how to race,
that i dont like vettel and hami they both suck, and this race verstappen sucked to

No, I did not mean that Perez should be considered by Merc. I was trying to point out that Ocon is the same level as Perez and there is no reason to expect him to be better than Bottas. These are all 2nd tier drivers imo.
