Hamilton was too gentleman at the start that's why he lost the race. Bottas isn't joking so he should upper his game a bit. Congrats to both

Ferrari should've gone for hards.
Tension of the final laps saved an otherwise dull event.

Cool head(and necessary speed) for Valterri.

Bottas wins Baku in 4th Mercedes 1-2 finish

Bottas wins Baku in 4th Mercedes 1-2 finish

Valtteri Bottas started from pole position, and calmly finished the race, keeping Hamilton at bay, despite continuing pressure. Together, they made for the 4th 1-2 finish for Mercedes this season. Sebastian Vettel settled for third.

Good job by Bottas but can he keep this up because you know damn well Hamilton can.

Ferrari have blown it, after updates to still be in Mercedes’ dust must be awfully painful to take and is gifting Mercedes a now highly probable WCC and WDC after just 4 races.

Does anyone know the pace of the hards? If close to the mediums, Leclerc should have pitted at the moment he had the largest gap to Bottas and battled it out to the end

soft tire completely useless. biggest SC losers: leclerc (9s !!!), ver, ham
FIA and Pirelli to answer the quality of their soft...no point in having so many compounds when you keep bringing same stuff race after race without any development...n

Ferrari brought forward updates planned for Barcelona to this race. If Mercedes bring decent upgrade to Spain, we could be looking at 5 consecutive 1-2s and likely the championships going to Mercedes.

I really hope we see Ferrari come back strong because it’s hard to watch domination all year. Fair play to Mercedes though. Great team

On some different sites I've read that Ferrari completely bottled Leclerc's strategy?! Nothing would have changed if they pitted him earlier and it was a risk since the Softs degraded quite fast. That was the maximum Ferrari could get today and they did.

Anyone wanting close racing have to hope that the usual Barcelona updates don’t work for Mercedes.

Imagine a season with a Mercedes 1-2 every race...

Mercedes might bring the update at Barcelona while Ferrari still got no clue what is wrong with their car.
Maybe RB will manage to fix their car at least.
If Racing Point continues like that they might have a real shot of 4th overall.

Sidenote: Vettel was way to happy in my opinion for a third place. Is he mentally already in a fight with Leclerc only and not Mercedes anymore?

For sure, casue what more can he do? He's not an engineer, ha can't make car faster while it is obvious he do everything he can as a driver to drive that car as fast as possible.

On another point. Heads need to start to roll at Renault.

They cannot keep getting embarrassed by McLaren with a Renault PU whilst being shocking themselves.

This is just me, but I think his body language resembles the mental state he had towards the end of 2017 and 2018.

The SKY mob are STILL talking about Leclerc pitting earlier onto the Softs.

What is wrong with these people #-o
