Giovinazzi really is probably the worst driver of this season. I miss Ericsson.

Quite an eventful session dat.

since fp2 quick runs were heavily disturbed, here's vettel's p2 lap from FP1. was faster than leclerc in fp2, though both vettel and leclerd did achieve much higher speeds on the straights in FP2.

Is it just me, or does Crofty irritate anyone else every time he opens his mouth?

HANS played an important role in Bottas' crash, I guess. Over 25G.

If the teams are dissatisfied with Pirelli's product, they should look for a different supplier for 2021
:?: :?: :?:

Pirelli is already confirmed until 2023, Jean Todt says:
I am happy to have Pirelli appointed for another period as official tyre supplier to the FIA Formula 1 world championship.

After FP2 race sims there are some drivers to be watched on Sunday, particularly for Sainz who did some impressive lap times (yeah, I know the old story: different PU mods, fuel levels, bla, bla ...), then Perez and Albon ...

Leclerc is on average up to 4-5 tenths slower than Lewis and Vettel some 7-8 tenths ...

Norris is some 3-4 tenths back from Sainz and Renault is hard to tell ...

RB trimmed some DF in order to increase its top speed and look at what happened to Max!
Anyway seems that race pace wise are bellow Ferrari.

What it`ll be interesting is tomorrows qualy session. I hardly can wait for that!

Yes that ought to be noticed. Also that he skimmed straight over the much vaunted but useless gravel

Surely that fluttering rear wing on the Renaults when DRS is open must induce some drag?

And surely it is not allowed? Safety hazard (If it breaks like we saw happening with Daniël Ricciardo in pre season test) and next to that If this isn’t “moveable aero” then what is.

are you sure your numbers are correct? Those are mine (fuel effect of 0.050s per lap included):

Softs:
Hamilton: 1:09,737 average over 12 laps
Leclerc: 1:09,716 average over 10 laps

Hards:
Hamilton: 1:10,004 average over 9 laps
Vettel: 1:10,372 average over 14 laps

And for stints of identical length (first 10 laps on Softs, first 9 laps on Hards, just disregarding the laps set later on):

Softs:
Hamilton: 1:09,671
Leclerc: 1:09,716

Hards:
Hamilton: 1:10,004
Vettel: 1:10,165

No idea about fuel load, engine modes and so on of course, but this is by far Ferrari's best FP2 long run performance since Bahrain

Merc and Ferrari pretty much on par so far, maybe we're set for an eventful race. Merc strongest in S3 is a bit worrying.
