Great performance! For reference +710 from pole in 2018, +436 now! Lets hope they keep the momentum going.

There is a trend showing on. When Mercs are slow Redbull is fast. Same for Alfas, Haas, opposite way for Renault. Mclaren is balanced. Everything is tyre related i think and just not so good car understanding...

Definetely I saw Max hitting 317, so I think nothing to worry about top speed at least for Austria

Right! And actually in q3 Ham was 1-2 km slower and Lec hit 330. All of them with tow.

Ham will get a grid penalty. Max on P2. Is he the only one starting on Mediums?

I also saw over 325kph out of Max during Quali. Maybe Merc engine is struggling with altitude? (And when I say struggling, I mean "less stellar").

In general the Honda looking strong this weekend across all drivers as does the RBR chassis. Max said afterwards the upgrades they brought here are definitely working and "the new Honda engine is showing better pace as well", maybe it really does deal with altitude much better.
It's down to the drivers now to make something out of this opportunity!

Watching Lewis try to match Max lap on the medium was quite amusing,if he qets a penalty and Charles tire strategy doesn't work and he also have fuel issues the victory could be a shot out between Max and Bottas

I'm afraid the race pace of the Mercs is still better than Max. We didn't saw Max pace due to the accident, so it's an unknown if he can match Merc pace to keep them under control.

Yes! Makes sense!

When it's hot, Ferrari, Red Bull and HAAS are fast as they are gentle on tyres and the heat gets them to correct zone, while those others are overheating the tyres.
