This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Spa?! I honestly think in perfect conditions that will be Ferrari's race to lose.
Suzuka also is a very good chance for Ferrari, as there aren't many slow corners. But by then Honda's mill will evolve to its final form.
And based on Monaco Merc has a huge lead going into Hungry.
Monaco was a long time ago, RBR wasn't even using the current nose. The car is slightly slower in slow corners, but at mid and high speed the RB15 has the edge on the W10.
Hungary is mostly mid speed corners. Mercedes may have an edge in turn 2 and the final 2 corners, but the Red Bull should be faster or match it everywhere else.
This seems a bit contradictory? turn 2 and final 2 are not the slowest corners?
Anyway, I think Mercs will be mighty and RB a bit behind. Hope I am wrong.

Atleast one of Mercs will be .5 of a second up the road from Verstapin min. Ham was .2 up on Ver in S3 alone in Germany and Hungry is basically 3 sectors of Germany's S3.
Turn 02 093 KM
Turn 03 108 KM
Turn 06 105 KM
Turn 12 113 KM
Turn 13 100 KM
Numbers alone don't tell the whole story. Turn 2 is a slow long radius corner, so yes I concede that Mercedes may have an edge there. Turn 3 is flat for everyone, turn 6 is a chicane, so it may be a wash. Turn 12 is not a long radius corner, rather it is a very sharp one, and the Red Bull is very strong under braking. Turn 13 I would have to give to Mercedes, and perhaps entry into the final corner.

They are the corners which highlight the Mercedes strengths the most. Long low speed corners are their specialty. Above 110kph it's a different matter altogether.
From turn 4 to turn 11 is where the actual driving happens. The blind crest at turn 4 requires supreme downforce, and pure commitment, the margin for error is very small. Then the medium speed right hand sweeper, many lines are possible depending on how early you planned to get on the throttle 1 1/2 corners ago. Then the chicane, this one is tricky because the exit is what's important, and understeering on entry is very easy to do. Some sacrifice of entry speed can yield overall similar lap time to purely attacking the corner, and understeer on entry is disastrous if your car can't handle the curbs.
8 and 9 are where things start heating up for the tires, they're fast sharp corners that really test a car's downforce, and a driver's concentration as it's easy to fly off the circuit even with the repaved track. Turn 8 has slight camber on the road that upsets the chassis more than helps turn in, and the curbs are rather slippery, and turn 9 is a sharp transition, again the curbs can help or hurt you here as spins are common here. The flat kink in turn 10 leads to the fastest turn on the track, turn 11, you just spot your turn in, lift, or brake depending on fuel level, come within cms of touching the inside curb and get on the gas immediately. Probably can go flat through 11 in qualifying.
Then the sharp turn 12, which is all about braking, quick right and power out. The last 2 corners are very long, turn 13 is so painfully boring and long. You sit there for almost half a second without applying throttle getting the car rotated so you can get best traction out it. Many lines are possible here and all equally slow. The final corner is very interesting as again there are multiple lines, one can V the corner, or hug the inside, use a gentle braking, or attack the corner and all can yield similar times.
Ah ok, so not hairpin slow. By the way; In Germany Merc was much faster during qualifying in the hairpin
You mean the one in turn 5? I think Verstappen made a mistake on his Q lap. It is a hard corner to be consistent in and that consistency can cost you .3 no problem.
I looked at the videos of Juzh (hairpin after the long straight). HAM vs VER 1st Q3 runs. 110kph+ corners they had very similar min speeds. But don't know if min speeds is telling the whole story.
during the German GP I had the feeling the Mercs had more grip out of the hairpin.
All will be shown in 24 hours. Just wait and see, we can try to armchair it as much as we want but FP times will give us actual track data from the circuit in question.

Exxon Mobil aims to improve Honda's F1 engine by 0.1- 0.5 seconds with new fuel in Russia (GP16)
With Spec4 and 25hp that were said in Monza (GP13), I think all the potential from the engine . It's a crucial point for the partnership between RBR&Honda , then we overcame the stage of hopes and reached the stage of harvesting all the efforts in the last 20 months.
Hoping it will be enough to compete for Pole position at every track of the last 4 GPs .

Which was my point. No hairpin in S3 in Germany (hairpin was in S2). RBR were the same distance from mclaren as they were from Merc in S3 in Germany(in the middle).

I don't want to spoil the fun, but it's a little less.
"Last year we introduced a new mixture around the Grand Prix of Hungary that gave the team an estimated one tenth to
one and a half tenths of a second," said Dario Izzo, technical adviser of ExxonMobil stationed at Red Bull.
"We would be satisfied if we could find again between one tenth and one and a half tenth before the end of this season."

Didn't realize it was that bad, given max got the front row but you're right. Max
was out approximately 2 tenths in S2 and another 2 tenths in S3. And Hungary looks full of what looks like Germany S3 and hairpins if I look at the track map. It's going to be tough to beat Mercs.

Agree and Lewis really love this track. It would be fantastic to see Honda here on the top of the podium again after Button, but it will be a very tough task for RBR. Second row would be be a good result on Saturday afternoon.

Currently, ExxonMobil is developing three new fuels. One is the latest fuel, which can be introduced as soon as possible, which is now in the final stage of development, and it can be put into the Belgian GP at the end of summer vacation as early as possible.
The other is a further upgrade based on the fuel that has entered the final stage of development, and is currently experimenting with six different fuels. And, it is said that this is scheduled for release to the Japanese Grand Prix.
According to Exxon Mobil's David Tulsaki, "These new fuels are not necessarily introduced in line with Honda's power unit upgrades, but will be introduced as soon as they are ready." Then, the specifications to be introduced to the Japanese Grand Prix, with a smile, said, "May I call it Suzuka Special ".
In addition to these two fuels, they are also working on fuel development for 2021.
"With the current 1.6-liter hybrid turbo engine, the fuel upgrade performance improvement is by no means small. We will continue to develop with the cooperation of Honda
