Congrats to MAX and to the RBRH team, it was a brilliant few laps from MAX, but I'm afraid he might be squeezed in strategy tomorrow by Mercs & Ferrari as he does not have Gasly to keep his back

What a lap! Max deserved this pole, he was quick all throughout this weekend. Its sweet to see Honda finally beat Merc and Ferrari in qualifying in which both are believed to have a bit more up their sleeve. Gasly down 0.8secs is huge, I am hoping he ends up having a good race tomorrow to save his seat post winter break.

Also, I hope Bottas does well tomorrow. Max best chance to even think of winning the championship is he getting support from Bottas and maybe even Vettel beating Lewis consistently on race day. Easier said than done as we all know that Lewis is a master!

Exciting times as Drivers championship would open up if Max wins tomorrow and Red Bull could take 2nd in the constructors if Gasly ups his game

I think it's starting to get clear as day now that Verstappen - RedBull and Honda is going to become the team to beat.
Imagine with a competitive driver next to Max how good things would look for RedBull Honda.
"Explain the ending to F1 in football terms"
"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

And Merc is already working on that strategy

Helmut Marco 'announced' early in the year that Red Bull Honda would have '5 wins' this year and everyone called him a buffoon.

I suspect that if they do get 5 wins (or more) over the season not only he but the whole team will be delighted. Beating Ferrari in the process would be the icing on the cake, but I really can not see them challenging Mercedes as they have been scoring with one driver, or Max catching Lewis because he has a team mate capable of taking points off Max and Max does not have an aid v Lewis.

Which ever way it goes, no one can say they have not already had an exceptional season. Possibly worth switching full attention to next years car earlier to get a jump on Mercedes ?
Red Bull is happy
Honda id happy
Max is happy
a few hundred thousand Dutchmen ate happy
lets have some more cracking races and a few million happy GP fans.

Stable rules for 2020. No need to switch to next years car if the current one still has development potential. Everything carries over.

True they need to push harder than ever. In the process it can put Mercs under pressure and cause them to make mistakes. Mercs are accustomed to winning, not necessarily fighting.

Anyway, I think Mercs will be mighty and RB a bit behind. Hope I am wrong.
Happy to be wrong! :) Now fingers crossed for a decent start.

In some ways it took the pressure off. As I said above Marco was saying things like 5 wins etc, and a good start would just have pumped that up. a 'stealth' start was the best thing for RBR and Honda and Max.
