To comtinue on topic. On the Autosport forum a poster suggest a link between the owners of RB and Albon’s nationality.

“Rumours already going on that the Thai connection of Red Bull might have pressured for that.

Red Bull is 51% owned by the Yoovidhya family from Thailand, also RB is a drink of Thai origin, that the marketing genious Mateschitz "westernized" and made it global.”

For the record, I think Hamilton is currently the best driver in F1, and has been for some years. But, he wasn't always the best, and he certainly hasn't been the best driver in every session since he entered the sport.
That's entirely reasonable.

No reasonable person would consider he's always been the best nor is always the best all the time. These guys are human and humans are not perfect.

I hope Albon's promotion to RedBull's senior team isn't too early. It would be a shame if he's overawed for a few races and thrown under the bus because of it.

It's impossible for any top class athlete to turn up to every new event, season after season and be the best and perfect in what he does under stress and pressure of fighting for titles and glory. Till date, he remains the best rookie to have entered the sport, who almost won the title on debut.

It's one thing to perform as non-championship contender where one can afford to take risk, chance and roll the dice without bothering about the outcome, but it's entirely another to be in it and fight it while taking just the right amount of calculated risk. You overdo it just a little and you are lagging far behind. Despite having achieved so much of success, he still seems to be far away from equaling Michael's tally. That shows, how grueling and long the journey to the summit is. In that sense, he is absolutely the best F1 driver of this generation. There are worthy challengers, but until they successfully walk that long mile, they will remain pretenders.

True, but part of the story is that he entered the sport in a championship contending team- which never happend before- or after.

What the f are you trying to say with your nonesense? You make zero sense.
Are you honestly denying the ownership status of RB, Albon’s nationality and the fact that nationality more than once plays a role for teams (even large manufacturers)?

Then if it's no rumor show me where Horner or Marko stated they took Albon because of his nationality.....
Till then I talk about alien with you... Deal?

Red Bull is an energy drink and marketing group, founded in 1987 by the Thai entrepreneur Chaloe Yoovidhya and the Austrian Dietrich Mateschitz. Mateschitz is the founder of energy drink producer Red Bull and owns 49% of the shares in Red Bull GmbH.

Exactly, and Chaloe’s son got 2% of the shares, making it 51% for the Yoovidhya family.
Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz and Thai businessman Chaleo Yoovidhya founded Red Bull GmbH in 1984. While working for German manufacturer Blendax (later acquired by Procter & Gamble) in 1982, Mateschitz traveled to Thailand and met Chaleo, owner of TC Pharmaceutical. He found that the energy drink Krating Daeng, developed by Chaleo's company during the 1970s, helped to ease his jet lag.[4] After seeing market potential in the drink, he partnered with Chaleo in bringing it to Europe. Under their agreement, the partners invested $500,000 each into founding Red Bull GmbH. In return, they would each receive a 49% stake in the company, with the remaining 2% stake going to Chaleo's son Chalerm

Exactly. I read the rumor on Autosport too, but also in the beginning of this season.

Hamilton was the best driver in F1 from his very first race in F1 Australia 2007 and has only improved with experience. Of course he could still make mistakes, but so did Alonso such as Japan 07.

Senna was also the best driver upon entering F1.
