That 3 to 5 seconds gap is also at odds with the reality of what teams did when they actually got free track to pull their tow stunts. Left free to choose, they chose gaps of about 1 second.

No damage in Sector 2 and a perfect tow approaching finish!

A Ferrari or Mercedes doesn't need a tow to get past Q1.

Having said that:

I will not mention his name- but someone has accused me lately of being ‘anti Hamilton’ (these are my own words) but this is absolutely not true.

I respect Hamilton a lot- and I admire his (almost always) ‘never give up’ state of mind- if Hamilton is 2nd, you automatically know there will be a ‘fight’.

But this doesn’t mean i am a fan of him perse- maybe if he goes to Ferrari one day..
