Max could have killed Valterri if he had lost control of his RedBull in that corner. Flooring it past the yellow is a serious offence and he should have gotten a five place grid drop minimum. He has much to learn young Max.
Ideally, he should have got a race ban. It's a matter of a fellow driver's life which he did not respect. FIA should not wait for a life to be affected due one individual's stupidity. They have to set strong precedence.
The Oracle would ask, would he have gotten a penalty if the car was painted red? I'm glad they did it, but I know it was done simply because the circumstance allowed it to be so. Japan's all four wheels out was clearer than this, so consistency is not consistent when it comes to our beloved sport.
Did the stewards not let him go in Austria, for clearly pushing a driver off the track? Leniency is being generously dished out to all and sundry. He would have gotten away if not for his loud mouth, which is the only thing they take offence of. The lesson is not here for dangerous driving, it's for keeping the mouth shut.
