I think we have the first surprise of the season! no yellow and almost no red. Purple... that's kinda new... I do like the simplicity.

Hamilton's one is dreadful. Not going to go well with the Ineos red OR the Petronas turquoise. Not sure why he messed with what was a great colour scheme.

I wouldn't say dreadful, but his previous helmets with the warm colours yellow and red I liked very much.
This white/purple helmet looks simple and doesn't match with the red and turquoise on the car indeed.

Since when did matching the car really ever matter ? Especially now we hardly see it with the Halo. Its basically black and white, funnily enough, thats probably how his race suit will look.

Its not like Senna's matched the Mclaren or the Williams he drove.

I'm going to drop a little, possibly contentious, thought in here: purple was the colour of emperors in Roman times and following on. Perhaps it's a statement of intent...

To be fair, you're right. I'm going to retract 'dreadful' because it's not, on reflection. The design is still good like it always was, but the previous colour schemes were far better in my opinion.

I actually think Vettel has the best design to be honest.
