Yes serious... at least I’ve heard of Greta (unfortunately) & Picasso, and if I wanted I could obvious search for who Tolstoy was, but I can’t say I’ve heard of him
why 'unfortunately'? She IS the young demographic F1 is chasing, she has millions of followers, she'll be a big part of why F1 and Mercedes committed to going carbon neutral, along with Lewis. People trust her, because she's genuine

And yes Tolstoy, master of drama, another thing F1 needs! They need to commit to some racing without crowds, to make sure there is some drama this season at least, even if they're probably not going to get Greta on the grid

"Greta"...F1 will pursue this type/demo at its own peril. This crowd will NEVER have any use for F1 or any similar ilk. Even if F1 were to achieve zero emissions and infinite sustainability, the "Gretas" of the world would abolish it in all of its forms. F1's competitiveness and extreme race for technological superiority is an anathema to this crowd. Not saying that increased sustainability and lower overall cost should not be pursued...but do so for the right reasons.

I can very well see Hamilton and Greta team up on some subjects.

yes, Seb too, and the whole of f1 really:
It is no secret that Formula 1 racing is a polluting sport, or that its previous owner Bernie Ecclestone wasn't particularly interested in sustainability.

But things have changed since the elite motor-racing series was taken over by US media giant Liberty Media in 2017. Last year F1 announced its first ever sustainability plan, with an ambitious goal to make itself "carbon neutral" by 2030.

When I meet Yath Gangakumaran - the man responsible for leading the plan - at the World Economic Forum in Davos, he is keen to distance himself from sport's old guard, although he won't comment on Mr Ecclestone's tenure.

"Up until 10-15 years ago sport wasn't run in a mature way - typically by ex-players not business professionals. It's become much more professional and is catching up with other industries, and that includes on sustainability."

there's no need for any F1 fan to feel threatened by Generation Greta, she's never said a thing against F1, motorsport or technology. There can be less pollution but still motorsport. Liberty do see things in a more modern way, like getting rid of grid girls, and hopefully they're going to keep thinking freshly now about how to have F1 this year even with the covid-19 epidemic. And if they have races with no crowd, that is a lot less CO2 after all

Please note I am not condemning an entire generation or "Greta" specifically. To the contrary, go to any drifting event and one can see the younger generation has significant interest in motorsport. However, I speak of a certain crowd that has zero room for alternatives/conversation on any topic related to "climate change. To wit,

There is a certain crowd we can never convince...and failure to realize such is Chamberlain-ish.

Can we please stop discussing that Greta child who hasn't even finished school, cant do anything but a rehearsed speech and arranged Q&A (check Youtube when she is questioned even slightly critical) and is used as emo-blackmail by her Antifa supporting parents and their ideological buddies? Leave climate and environment (2 distinct subjects by the way) to independent scientists.

And lets discuss F1 here.

There s nothing to discuss. Independent scientists , 97percent of them , already told us from decades what Greta incidentally repeats from months to the youngsters. The crowd Is different.
There s nothing to discuss from ages, we re Just waiting proper actions. Nobody likes the situation besides oil companies

No that 97 percent keeps getting repeated is false. Google what the 97% really said.

She's never said a thing about F1 because F1 is insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Seriously though, if you think her opinion on any form of motorsport is anything but negative you are dreaming...
COVID-19 has worked out quite well for Greta. We must be using less fossil fuels now.

Well, discussions about F1 are going to get pretty boring with nothing happening. Let's face the hard reality; there will not be a 2020 F1 season. There will be no races. Some teams, like Williams, may fold as there will be no income from Liberty. Silverstone will not happen. The Dutch GP will not happen. There will be no races this season. In Italy, yesterday, 368 persons died from the virus. The doubling time for infection is on the order of five days. There will not be an Italian GP. I have been a fan for many years and wish we could race, but we won't. This is serious stuff that will affect all of us and entertainment, in the form of racing, is inconsequential.
