Hi Fredric

Well what do you specificly want? the PI software.....and/or something conserning setups? There are a few books that can give you a general idea...but seem to be quite theoretical....in your case probably you'd be interested in something more hands-on....I post back later with 2 or 3 books.

By the way....are you only looking for suspension steup info or do you want some info conserning aerodynamics and engine?

Hello Fredric,
you could try playing with set-ups in EA's Formula 1 challenge 99-02..it's quite realistic..probably you can find how to set up your car somewere in the internet

In any case if you play F1 Challenge....install the 2004RH pack...it's more realistic and have the engine braking, diff preload, 3rd damper/spring.....a whole lot more options then in the original version.

I haven't forgotten the books....I'll post them tomorrow....

thanx guys for your info. but in fact what the teammanager said was that i know --- about technical things. so what i have to do is if i have driven i have to look on the computer and i have to be able to analyse everything and then change that into a different set up. but it was the first time i saw such a program, so i just have to learn it. but those books you said can be very interesting. the most interesting things about set up are suspension and rollbar and aerodynamics.

if u could help me with those i would appreciate it enormous

thansx again

Hi Fredric

Well like I promised here is the book....it ended up only being one book cause the others I looked at seem to be more for an engineers point of view....specially looking at car construction.

Competition Car Preparation: A Practical Handbook - Haynes Publishing.

There is another book by Haynes - Competition Car Suspension....but it is more construction orientated.

Here is the link for amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/...s&n=507846

There are quite a few books on the market....Caroll Smith is a very well known engineer....he has a few books...but I havent read his book: "Tune to Win"
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/...v=glance

But he can be very boring at some points.......

Hands-On Race Car Engineer - seems to be a very bad book in terms of setups.....I've read bad reviews on it. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obido...QQJAB6IVA5

i'll keep lokking for some books for you.

Try running a little on F1 Challenge it at least gives you a general idea on how the diferent parametres work....and also has a telemetry program, that to me is one of the best telemetry programs that comes with games.....though not very good for real life...

guys, that site about set up i immediately recognise things for real.

for example in paul ricard a pilot needed quicker steering in a corner and they made it stiffer. it is so cool to have such a site

if there are more thank u but it doesn't have to be pi system, it can be D2 or magnetti system or wathever, just to have a base to start on

ps: i drove f3 in 2004 and was vice-champion for the first year in car. now we are planning to drive in worldseries by renault, just below f1
