The case with Silverstone is that the tarmac is so black it absorbs the sunlight from quite low levels. Even with cool-ish air temps the track temp can be quite high, especially after the latest resurface. its in an open area so moving air can make it feel cool but the track absorbs a lot of heat. (no, I know sod all about prediction :lol: )

Fp3 should give a better picture, can only see Merc being able to make to Q2 with mediums.

I'm sure there's more to come from Mercedes however the nature of the circuit doesn't play into their strengths. Not a lot of medium speed corners for them to strut their stuff. Stowe and the end of the esses really. Toto has also admitted that Mercedes is a little slower than tracing point in the super high speed stuff due to more drag.

Proof is in the pudding, I said it was going to be warmer than predicted, and it was. What more proof do you need?
It is all just guessing though ultimately isn’t it? Narrow data set admittedly but for the Hungarian Grand Prix you were adamant it would be low 30’s when others were saying low 20’s. Ended up being low 20’s iirc. You may well end up being correct more than the established sources but no one really knows with any certainty until it happens, at best we have educated guesses.

Based on the data from the first 3 races, Merc have been the best in high-speed corners and on the straights. Red Bull and Christian Horner have said this as well.

This circuit is perfect for the W11.

Mid 20s it was uncharacteristic of the time of year but I admit I was wrong.

I saw a comperation shows that racing point use bigger rear wing.

... Except it doesn't gain a massive momentum advantage in the first half of every straight/flat-out section (best indicator of horsepower advantage)...

They are indeed running a skinny wing, leclerc was also saying it was “so, so difficult” and this time I actually believe him. Still, in Hungary they were there too. But maybe that is because with the thick nose aero is more predictable and the car is thus easier to set up correct and drive and around Hungary HP isn’t the most important (it always is Ofcourse) for achieving a quick lap.
