Yes, very well job from him.
Besides that, it seems like Ferrari generally has good tyre management.
I would say Hamilton would have been all over him like a cheap suit.El Scorchio wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 16:56It was a bit at the front. All done and dusted after the first corner. Lots of interesting stuff behind!
I think they should have been wary and respectful of the RBR pace but ‘favourite’ was a bit of a stretch wasn’t it. Interesting to think how it could have panned out if Max had somehow made it into turn 1 in the lead
Wheel spin from the dusty side of the track. Again, cars on the racing line (left side) got the better run. This story has played over and over again and is a downside of standing starts vs. rolling starts as they unfairly penalize one side of the grid.
Unfortunately, now that the hopes of the VER/RB have suffered following this race we’ve returned to bashing Merc’s budget/resources, bashing HAM, bashing the death of the sport because of Merc. It’s tiring
He’s a much better chaser than Bottas for sure. Max would have made it very difficult to pass. Could have been an absolute ding dong battle!Restomaniac wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 17:00I would say Hamilton would have been all over him like a cheap suit.El Scorchio wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 16:56It was a bit at the front. In that case, why was Bottas renewed instead of promoting the exciting Russell?
Well, Hungary was similar to Barcelona, yet he did that last year.JonoNic wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 17:01So you assume that Hamilton would have been all over Verstappen if he was behind? That's a big assumption for this particular circuit.El Scorchio wrote:Hardly. He couldn’t get near Max. If the car was so much better as you claim he’d have been at least threatening him as it was he never got within two seconds.

BTW Nico Rosberg just literally said ‘that was a Hamilton masterclass.’ So there you go. And he’s hardly the guy’s biggest fan.JonoNic wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 17:01So you assume that Hamilton would have been all over Verstappen if he was behind? That is because Leclerc started on softs and Vettel on MediumsSchuttelberg wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 16:59The boxed both Seb and Charles on the same lap with different tyres. They are clearly making sure they score points with one car or what I don't know but it's just not making any sense whatsoever to me.
I don’t think it’s a big assumption at all.JonoNic wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 17:01So you assume that Hamilton would have been all over Verstappen if he was behind? Part of being the best, is making sure you cross all your Ts and dot all your Is.
True but I think it’s safe to assume that with a car that was better on its tyres and quicker that Hamilton would be all over him.El Scorchio wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 17:01He’s a much better chaser than Bottas for sure. Yeah, Albon should go and someone faster should come back, i think Redbull should take Vettel back.
Red Bull also used Albon as a test subject on tires. RB partially put him in that position.
