Is the the start of the Bottas fight back?
Which Bottas 3.7?
I've lost track of which version but he is hooked up around here this weekend, a shock really as Hamilton is normally great on new circuits.
Hardly a fight back. Lets wait and see Sunday.

We will see, if he can grab pole it will be a massive body blow to Hamilton.

I expected Lewis to be the one lighting the time sheets up this weekend.

So far it seems there's very little difference between the hard and medium tires in terms of performance both in short and long runs. Definitely looking like a two stop race.
Merc/RB will qualify on mediums and run a 1-stop (M / H). Given track position is king, I doubt we'll see two stops.

The timesheets don't lie, he's been on the back foot all day.

I want him to smash it out of the park this weekend but looks a step behind thus far.

Well if he wins this weekend and gets fastest lap that's 11 points in 2 races, the comeback is on. 😉

Perez received 1 place grid penalty for the incident with Kimi.
Pit lane exit during racing will be very tricky; could cause 'Safety Car'...

If, by on the back foot you mean, not in P1 after every single run, okay.

There isn't much to be gleaned from the lap times today anyway. Lap time evolution was massive, and there will be more tomorrow.

Bottas has got no chance here, even if he is faster over a single lap. He's useless at managing tyres over the length of a stint, so I fully expect Hamilton to pass him at the first stops if he hasn't done so already on track.

Now that is just hyperbolic, if he gets pole here he will be a strong favourite for the win.

Onboard the fastest lap of the session.

Uh, OK. I thought I lost count but will take your word for it.

That said these sort of processional track
layout is usually where Bottas has the best chance to win if he starts lap 2 in front of Lewis. The big fly in his ointment however is the fact that this track is very hard on tyres. Bottas hasn't done well this year at the tyre managment so he will really impress me if he can keep a chasing Lewis behind.

Well done Bottas. He managed to not screw up in free practice.

Moving on.

He held Hamilton off at Silverstone and had him easily covered until he was put on a poor strategy, Silverstone is much easier to follow and pass than Mugello I should imagine.
