Hardly a fight back. Lets wait and see Sunday.
We will see, if he can grab pole it will be a massive body blow to Hamilton.
Merc/RB will qualify on mediums and run a 1-stop (M / H). Given track position is king, I doubt we'll see two stops.godlameroso wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 16:21So far it seems there's very little difference between the hard and medium tires in terms of performance both in short and long runs. Definitely looking like a two stop race.

The timesheets don't lie, he's been on the back foot all day.Fulcrum wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 18:27Taking lessons at the Toto Wolff School of PR and BS.Wass85 wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 17:45Hamilton has confirmed he is struggling around here.

What number fight back are we on again?
number 2.
Well if he wins this weekend and gets fastest lap that's 11 points in 2 races, the comeback is on.
3.something
If, by on the back foot you mean, not in P1 after every single run, okay.Wass85 wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 18:33The timesheets don't lie, he's been on the back foot all day.Fulcrum wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 18:27Taking lessons at the Toto Wolff School of PR and BS.Wass85 wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 17:45Hamilton has confirmed he is struggling around here.

I want him to smash it out of the park this weekend but looks a step behind thus far.
Now that is just hyperbolic, if he gets pole here he will be a strong favourite for the win.Fulcrum wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 18:41If, by on the back foot you mean, not in P1 after every single run, okay.
There isn't much to be gleaned from the lap times today anyway. Lap time evolution was massive, and there will be more tomorrow.
Bottas has got no chance here, even if he is faster over a single lap. He's useless at managing tyres over the length of a stint, so I fully expect Hamilton to pass him at the first stops if he hasn't done so already on track.
Well done Bottas. He managed to not screw up in free practice.Wass85 wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 18:43Now that is just hyperbolic, if he gets pole here he will be a strong favourite for the win.Fulcrum wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 18:41If, by on the back foot you mean, not in P1 after every single run, okay.

Onboard the fastest lap of the session.
He held Hamilton off at Silverstone and had him easily covered until he was put on a poor strategy, Silverstone is much easier to follow and pass than Mugello I should imagine.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑11 Sep 2020, 18:43Uh, OK. I thought I lost count but will take your word for it.
That said these sort of processional track
layout is usually where Bottas has the best chance to win if he starts lap 2 in front of Lewis. The big fly in his ointment however is the fact that this track is very hard on tyres. Bottas hasn't done well this year at the tyre managment so he will really impress me if he can keep a chasing Lewis behind.
