No spectators.

Sad but the sensible choice and the only choice, given the situation.
I got sick in March, it's almost November. I haven't been sick since, but I never got fully well, despite my O2 saturation returning to normal. Lots of congestion, lots of hot sauce(nearly $90 USD since September) and salt water gargling to clear out my sinuses. I don't wish this on anyone.
That does not sound nice at all. Sorry you've had to go through that! It just highlights how little we still know about it and why even though it sucks, that caution is wise.

So aside from Max/Ham/Bott who do you guys think will be the top 6?
(P4, P5, & P6)
I don't even dare predict.

Because Leclerc was amazing!

So he could be amazing again and be P4 2 races ago it was Renault & Racing Point last race it was McLaren & Alfa.
(Yes Sergio did amazing but their strategy and luck placed them behind).

Renault/McLaren/RacingP & who or will Leclerc go back down the grid with Spinnela?

There’s massive amounts of time to be gained by kerb hopping although in other formulas it risks damage.
Are we talking bumps in the 2mm range?

I dont understand why they took away the last chicane. Will it be DRS from Rivazza until Tamburello?

DRS from approx the start line, not from the last corner.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

In 1993. The tamburello turn was so fast. Chicane added after drivers killed in 1994 of course.

The circuit was flat out from the last chicane all the way to Tosa. It would be a very different set up if the old circuit was still in use. Nearly half of it would be 100% throttle. Tamburello and Villeneuve chicanes have radically altered the circuit.

I don`t know about you guys [and gals], but this weekend is going to be quite emotional for me. I know F1 has been to Imola post Ayrton`s death but for some reason it seems to me that this is the first time since a lot more has been found out about the circumstances, about Senna himself via the film and several documentaries, etc!

If anyone spins of into the barriers I`ll surely take a deep breath and hope all is well, I can still remember "the day" like it was last week unfortunately, I loved Senna, his passion and compassion...

Here`s hoping for a pleasant weekend for all, stay safe everyone.

Is there any particular reason we’re not going to have Friday running?

^ It`s not been confirmed but my guess is something to do with Covid and the fact some spectators are allowed in.

What I don`t get is what happens if there`s an early red flag which stops cars going on track for some time. They`ve only got 1 session of 90 minutes, if they lose say 30 minutes plus of that, it leaves very little! Same for evryone though I suppose.

With back-to-back races at European circuits over 2000 kilometres apart, the teams need the extra time to get the transporters from Algarve to Imola and have time to set everything up at the Italian venue, hence the lack of track activity on Friday.

It will also serve as an experiment for the future as one of the ways to reduce costs and boost the show as the teams are less prepared and everything is less perfect / less predictable.

Agree.

Imola oozes F1 history, good and bad. It was always a venue I looked forward to on the calendar so it’ll be great to see F1 back again. Forecast looks good so the cars will look fantastic I’m sure. I just wish we could have had a full weekend.
